Dear AASHE Community,
We recognize that the global pandemic we’re experiencing is creating intense challenges for most everyone, including those of us supporting sustainability in higher education. AASHE is doing what we can to support you at this time which includes planning for the future. While our conference is still six months away, we don’t know if travel restrictions will still be in place and also anticipate many of you will be facing budget restrictions, especially for travel and professional development. As a result, AASHE has decided to move this year’s Conference & Expo to be 100% virtual.
By going virtual, we have an opportunity to expand our engagement to campuses and organizations throughout the world with a much smaller footprint. This transition is also an opportunity to more fully enact our values and expand the breadth and depth of educational offerings. We are confident we can deliver a fantastic conference experience that provides the knowledge and inspiration to keep you motivated throughout the year.
While we will miss the chance to be together in-person, this feels like the best path for moving forward. In the coming months, we will be working on the many details involved in our virtual conference and appreciate your patience as we navigate this transition. I welcome you to share your ideas with us in AASHE Connect, our online community, or directly with the team at conference@aashe.org. We’re in this together!
Wishing you and your family good health,
Meghan
