AASHE has joined the Natural Resources Defense Council and more than 130 organizations from 39 countries in calling for the establishment of strong accountability mechanisms to ensure the achievement of global commitments related to deforestation and forest degradation. For too long, the international community has failed to fully follow through on such commitments. Given the urgency of the climate and biodiversity crises, AASHE believes it is essential that countries make good on their commitments to halt and reverse deforestation and forest degradation by 2030.
