The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) is pleased to formally announce our endorsement of the March for Science, planned for April 22 in Washington, D.C.
The March for Science aims to unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policymakers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.
The march aligns with AASHE’s own mission to inspire and catalyze higher education to lead the global sustainability transformation. It also reinforces our core values of transparency, collaboration, hope, stewardship, innovation, courage, accountability and diversity. In choosing to endorse the event, AASHE joins a growing number of like-minded organizations, including American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), American Association of University Professors and Union of Concerned Scientists.
We hope many AASHE members will choose to participate in the March for Science, either on the National Mall in Washington D.C., or at many of the satellite marches planned across the planet.
Please share your stories using the hashtag #AASHE on our Facebook Page about your engagement activities to provide examples and encouragement for others to follow. We welcome your suggestions about how to effectively engage members and others in Washington, D.C. and satellite marches on how to continue engagement after the march.
