This workshop will introduce best practices for integrating sustainability across the curriculum, from designing a sustainability-focused assignment or course to strategizing curriculum-wide sustainability learning goals. This year’s event will give specific focus to developing and maintaining community partnerships that connect classroom learning to real-world sustainability initiatives, a high impact pedagogical practice. Participants can choose from three tracks focused on different types of partnerships: 1) schools and non-profit organizations, 2) local governments, and 3) for-profit businesses. These half-day tracks will be led by experienced practitioners from a range of disciplines in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and professional fields, and each will include presentations from non-profit, government, and business partners. Participants will leave with resources on sustainability course design, tips for establishing and maintaining partnerships, exercises for student reflection, and tools for assessment.
