Award Webinar: Building a Culture of Sustainability Through Campus Engagement – Lessons from IE University’s 10-Year Challenge
June 24 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
Launched in 2020 by the IE University Sustainability Office, the 10-Year Challenge is a transformative, campus-wide initiative that tackles a different sustainability theme each year. By involving every department and school in co-creating action plans and embedding sustainability into daily practices, the initiative has generated real progress in performance, culture, and awareness—all while aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
In this session, we’ll share:
- Practical, real-world strategies that drive engagement across faculty, staff, and students
- The importance of active stakeholder involvement and co-creation
- How a simple, data-driven methodology supports alignment and long-term success
- Lessons learned about embedding sustainability as a shared institutional value
By sharing IE University’s varied and effective strategies, the session will demonstrate how tailored approaches can create a culture where sustainability feels like a natural and shared part of university life. Through interactive discussion and reflection, attendees will connect their own experiences to new strategies and take away insights that are adaptable, inclusive, and action-oriented—showing that successful engagement can take many forms depending on institutional context and community dynamics.
Whether you’re just getting started or looking to scale your efforts, this webinar will offer adaptable, inclusive approaches that show how meaningful change can happen when sustainability is everyone’s business.
