Not Business as Usual: Fostering Civic Engagement on Climate Change
July 12, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT
FreeScientists are in consensus that the world needs to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, and this cannot be accomplished by institutions acting alone to reduce their own impacts. This webinar introduces ways higher education can advance climate policies through education and civic engagement. We will discuss ideas for building consensus, seeking common ground, and moving towards solutions in a non-partisan way; share resources available for modeling civic engagement; and discuss where higher education institutions can have the greatest leverage.
