Call for Papers: Climate Action Planning at US & Canadian Campuses
The International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education (IJSHE) and the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue of the Journal on climate action planning at campuses in the United States and Canada. Judy Walton, AASHE's Acting Executive Director, will guest edit this special issue.
Suggested topics for coverage include:
- Financing GHG emissions reductions
- Setting priorities for target GHG reductions on campus
- Planning for carbon neutrality
- Implementing the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment
- Integrating learning and research into a climate action plan
- Case studies of successful campus GHG reduction efforts
This list is not exhaustive and interested authors are encouraged to contact the
editor with alternative proposals.
Submitted articles must be between 2,000 and 4,000 words in length. A title of not more than eight words and structured abstract must be supplied with each submission. Abstracts should be set out under 4-6 sub-headings: Purpose; Method/Approach; Findings; Research Limitations/Implications (if applicable); Practical Implications (if applicable); and, the Originality/Value of Paper. The maximum length is 250 words. Six keywords should also be provided which encapsulate the principal topics of the paper.
All articles submitted to IJSHE are subjected to double-blind peer review. Please put any identifying information, such as name and institution, on a separate page, for review purposes. For more information about how to submit, please go to the Journal's Author Guidelines.
The closing date for submissions is: August 29, 2008
