Niles Barnes is the Projects Coordinator for AASHE. Niles graduated from the University of Kentucky Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in political science. While at Kentucky he worked as assistant coordinator of the Residence Life Sustainability program, and co-coordinated UK Greenthumb, the largest student run environmental club in the state. While spending a semester interning in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Niles co-founded Greenway Pedicabs a fossil-fuel free taxi service which recently expanded to include a bio-fuels limousine and shuttle van service. Niles resides in Lexington, Kentucky where he enjoys climbing in the Red River Gorge and biking for transportation.
