Julian is the Associate Director of AASHE. Julian graduated from Lewis & Clark College in May 2003 with an honors degree in Environmental Studies. While there, he spearheaded a successful and nationally recognized effort to bring the College into compliance with the emissions targets of the Kyoto Protocol on climate change. Julian is the author of Guidelines for College-Level Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories, an instruction manual for performing greenhouse gas emissions inventories for colleges or universities, and has been published in the International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education. In the year between graduating from Lewis & Clark and joining AASHE staff, he co-founded a business to produce biodiesel while studying sustainable development in Barbados on a J. William Fulbright scholarship. Julian is also a Harry S. Truman Scholar, a Campus Ecology Fellow, and a USA Today Academic All-Star.
